If you can't find an answer to your question give us a call or use the contact form below to get in touch.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority sets the rules, here a few:
• You must keep your drone at least 30 metres away from other people.
• You must not fly your drone higher than 120 metres (400 feet) above ground level.
• You must keep your drone within visual line-of-sight. This means always being able to see the drone with your own eyes
• You must not fly over or above people or in a populous area
Further conditions can be found here https://www.casa.gov.au/knowyourdrone/drone-rules
The maximum flight time per battery is around 30 minutes in calm conditions. On average we fly up to 24 minutes before landing to put in a freshly charged battery. We carry enough batteries for each shoot and it only takes a minute to change the battery and get back in air.
CASA regulations allow us to fly up to a maximum height of 400ft. We can fly higher with approvals, or for some jobs a chartering a helicopter could be more practical and cost effective.
Yes – we can fly indoors as long as there is enough space and no people within 30m. We have flown in warehouses, auction houses, aquatic centres and homes.
Most of the time there are no problems flying indoors, a short test flight can give us the final answer.
This depends on what you are trying to accomplish and your personal preferences. For promotional photos & video, we prefer sunny partly cloudy weather.
Yes - Nexxt Frame Photography are fully insured against injury and damage for each flight with $10million public liability.
Yes - Our main drone photographer is a CASA licensed drone operator.
We don't fly in extreme high winds or rain. We can fly in winds gusting up to about 30km/h, however, if possible we prefer to plan around the weather so we shoot in more ideal conditions.
We monitor the weather several days in advance of a shoot. If it does not look good we'll discuss options with you 48 hours prior to your shoot.
If we both decide to stay with the day and we have bad weather, we will wait on site as long as possible in the hope of a break in the weather.
If we have to re-schedule a date because of weather the booking deposit is transferred to the new date.
The maximum airspeed of our drones is around 70km/h.
Our maximum permitted range set by CASA is the pilots visible line of sight, 100-300m with a maximum altitude of 400ft.
